Senior Android Engineer (On-site)

Job summary

This role involves significant ownership in a hands-on engineering capacity, contributing to the development of a Point of Sale platform that supports merchants in managing their workflows, from order taking to payment processing.

Qualifications

• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong background in designing and operating distributed systems
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and influence architectural decisions
• Experience in payments, fintech, e-commerce, SaaS, or high-scale transaction systems is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve features for the Point of Sale platform
• Lead initiatives involving multiple engineers from discovery to production
• Develop and maintain features in the Android POS platform using Kotlin/Compose
• Drive architectural decisions and long-term technical improvements
• Mentor engineers through coaching and code reviews
• Enhance reliability, observability, performance, and security of the platform

Skills

• Proficient in Kotlin, Android, Java
• Familiar with Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Dagger Hilt, Room, DataStore
• Experience with Retrofit, AWS MQTT, JUnit, Espresso, Robolectric
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices using GitHub Actions

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
