Scientist, Microbial Strain Safety (Biotechnology, Hørsholm)

Job summary

The role involves ensuring the safety of microbial products through quality management and safety assessments. The Scientist will contribute to the department's quality agenda and maintain high standards of documentation and processes.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. or recent PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Food Science, or a related field
• Strong interest in microbiology
• Experience in Quality Assurance and a quality-oriented mindset
• Proficient in technical writing and scientific communication
• Familiarity with safety assessments of bacterial strains, especially regarding antimicrobial resistance and virulence factors
• Ability to analyze microbial genome data
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Responsibilities

• Lead the department’s Quality Agenda, ensuring audit readiness and continuous improvement
• Develop, review, and maintain quality documentation including SOPs and training materials
• Conduct safety assessments of microbial strains using phenotypic and genomic methods
• Prepare safety assessment reports for internal and external stakeholders

Education
