R&D Senior Manager – Mechanics

Job summary

You will drive excellence in New Product Development and support Lifecycle Management initiatives, ensuring high-quality solutions are delivered on time.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred
• Over 7 years of experience in product development within a regulated environment
• Deep technical expertise in mechanical engineering with a proven ability to set strategic direction
• Experience managing complex systems, including integrated instrument platforms and high-volume consumables
• Strong background in collaboration with external partners such as suppliers and consultants

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, development, and manufacturing transfer of mechanical parts and assemblies
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team and cross-functional partners
• Align mechanical development activities with stakeholders across various functions
• Plan long-term mechanical roadmaps for New Product Development and support Lifecycle Management priorities
• Lead and develop the R&D Mechanics team to foster a high-performing organization
• Drive talent development and capability building for future growth
• Standardize processes for consistent project execution and continuous improvement
• Integrate industry trends and technological advancements into team projects

Skills

• Strong understanding of regulatory documentation practices in key markets including FDA and EU
• Knowledge of engineering best practices such as DfX methodologies, FMEA, and tolerance analysis
• Familiarity with simulation, materials, manufacturing processes, and machine shop practices

Education

• Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or similar field preferred

Tools

• Experience with mechanical design and development tools relevant to the industry
