Job summary

This position seeks an experienced LCMS specialist to generate molecular insights from complex biological and chemical systems, supporting various R&D initiatives. The role involves collaboration within an analytical department, utilizing advanced instrumental equipment in mass spectrometry, separations, and spectroscopy to provide insights for R&D projects.

Qualifications

  • PhD or MSc with over 5 years of experience in analytical chemistry, with a strong foundation in biochemistry and/or organic chemistry.
  • In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of mass spectrometry.
  • Extensive experience in structural assignment based on MSn spectra.
  • Proficient in liquid phase separations, particularly liquid chromatography.
  • Familiarity with relevant sample preparation techniques for optimal analytical results.
  • Experience in small molecule mass spectrometry, metabolomics, and/or lipidomics is preferred.
  • Ability to process raw data using both vendor-specific and academic tools.
  • Skills in data mining and visualization, including classical statistics and multivariate data analysis.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience combined with data analysis capabilities.
  • A curious, structured, meticulous, and persistent approach to work.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with R&D colleagues to solve challenges in food, dietary interventions, and biochemistry.
  • Support new product development by providing molecular insights into complex systems.
  • Design and conduct untargeted studies for biomarker discovery.
  • Develop quantification panels for multiple components across various matrices.
  • Share knowledge and inspire colleagues within the global R&D organization.
