R&D LCMS Specialist

Job summary

An experienced LCMS specialist is sought to generate molecular insights from complex biological and chemical systems, supporting innovative R&D initiatives. This role involves collaboration within a well-established analytical department, focusing on the intersection of chemistry and biology. Responsibilities include utilizing high-end instrumental equipment in separations, mass spectrometry, and spectroscopy to support diverse R&D projects, particularly in biotechnological processes.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc with over 5 years of experience in analytical chemistry, with a solid foundation in biochemistry and/or organic chemistry.
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of mass spectrometry.
• Experience in structural assignment based on MSn spectra.
• Proficiency in liquid phase separations, especially liquid chromatography.
• Knowledge of relevant sample preparation techniques for optimal analytical data.
• Preferably experienced in small molecule mass spectrometry, metabolomics, and/or lipidomics.
• Ability to process raw data using various tools.
• Skills in data mining and visualization, including classical statistics and multivariate data analysis.
• Hands-on laboratory experience and a strong analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct untargeted studies for biomarker discovery and develop quantification panels for various matrices.
