About the role

Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to engage in pioneering research on measurement-device-independent quantum communication protocols utilizing entanglement sources. The role involves working in advanced quantum optics laboratories and collaborating with international partners in the field of quantum communication.

Qualifications

  • PhD in physics, optical engineering, quantum technologies, photonics, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in experimental quantum optics, particularly in squeezed light and entanglement generation.
  • Proven hands-on experimental skills and troubleshooting abilities for complex optical and electronic systems.
  • Experience with high-speed data acquisition, digital signal processing, and optical phase-locking techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to mentor junior researchers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop broadband entanglement sources.
  • Lead the design and implementation of phase-locking systems and advanced digital signal processing.
  • Design, construct, and optimize experimental setups for high-rate MDI-CVQKD systems.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.
  • Supervise PhD students and coordinate with collaborating researchers.

Skills

  • Strong experimental skills in quantum optics.
  • Creativity in experimental design and scientific ambition.

Education

  • A PhD degree (or equivalent) is required.

Tools

  • Familiarity with optical and electronic systems, high-speed data acquisition tools, and digital signal processing software.
