Qualifications

  • PhD in biomedical optics, electrical engineering, photonics, or a related field.
  • Strong background in optical imaging technology, image processing, and modeling.
  • Experience in experimental work within a photonics laboratory.
  • Familiarity with fiber optics or imaging catheters is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify cancer detection biomarkers utilizing SO-OCT and NIR-II fluorescence, incorporating AI techniques.
  • Develop multimodal imaging systems combining SO-OCT and NIR-II fluorescence.
  • Explore system architectures for fiber optic implementations of the imaging system.
  • Collaborate with an international research team.
  • Publish research findings in scientific and public domains.
  • Co-supervise BSc and MSc students.
  • Assist in securing research funding.

Skills

  • Proficiency in experimental optics and imaging technologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Education

  • A formal qualification of a PhD degree (or equivalent) is required.

Tools

  • Experience with optical coherence tomography (OCT) and fluorescence imaging technologies.
