Job summary

The Quantum and Nanophotonics section is looking for a motivated PhD student to join a project focused on the discovery of novel topological photonics. This role involves theoretical and computational work to explore new topological phenomena and design photonic structures.

Qualifications

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent academic level.
  • Background in photonics and condensed-matter physics.
  • Passion for theoretical and computational physics.
  • Prior research experience in photonic crystals, band topology, or symmetry analysis is advantageous.
  • Excellent GPA or proven research track record required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct theoretical and computational research in topological photonics.
  • Perform numerical computations and theoretical analyses of photonic properties.
  • Develop models to enhance theoretical understanding.
  • Propose and evaluate designs for experimental demonstrations.
  • Participate in PhD courses, teaching, and research dissemination through publications.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency in theoretical and computational physics.

Education

  • Must hold a master's degree or equivalent.

Tools
