Job summary

This position focuses on experimental research in solid-state battery technology, specifically developing potassium-sulfur (K-S) batteries with self-healing capabilities. The role involves hands-on materials synthesis and electrochemical characterization, collaborating with computational teams and international partners.

Qualifications

  • MSc degree in materials science, electrochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, or a closely related field.
  • Experience with electrochemical characterization techniques such as impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry.
  • Familiarity with solid-state materials synthesis and structural characterization methods like X-ray diffraction.
  • Interest in battery materials and electrochemical energy storage.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize novel K-ion-conducting solid-state electrolyte materials.
  • Characterize electrolyte structure and properties using advanced techniques.
  • Measure ionic and electronic transport properties through electrochemical methods.
  • Assemble and test K|SSE|K battery cells to analyze stability and degradation.
  • Investigate self-healing behavior through experimental protocols.
  • Disseminate research findings through publications and presentations.

Skills

  • Strong background in materials science and electrochemistry.
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Proficiency in English communication.

Education

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent is required.

Tools

  • Techniques such as X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, and electrochemical methods.
