Qualifications

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent in physics, geophysics, materials science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background in relevant disciplines with hands-on research experience in luminescence confocal microscopy, optical bench instrumentation, scientific software development, or lasers.
  • Proficient communication and academic writing skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent research and lead a project in luminescence physics.
  • Engage in confocal microscopy of point defects and trapped charges for luminescence thermochronometry and rock surface dating.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact scientific journals.

Skills

  • Experience with luminescence confocal microscopy and image processing.
  • Knowledge of optical bench instrumentation setup and alignment.
  • Familiarity with scientific software development and laser technology.
