Job summary

A PhD position is available to investigate the impact of screen-use on preschool children's school readiness, utilizing data from a nationwide cohort study of over 11,000 Danish children. The research will be conducted within a collaborative team and includes an opportunity for an extended research stay at an international partner university.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a degree equivalent to a Danish master’s in public health, epidemiology, psychology, or related fields.
  • In-depth experience in epidemiology, programming, and statistical analysis, preferably using R or STATA.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a PhD project.
  • Strong motivation and interest in child health research, particularly regarding screen-use and development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct empirical research on the effects of preschool screen-use on school readiness.
  • Collaborate with senior researchers and fellow PhD students in interdisciplinary research.
  • Engage in data collection and analysis, utilizing Danish registries and cohort data.

Skills

  • Research experience in public health, epidemiology, or psychology.
  • Documented experience in writing and publishing scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Familiarity with cohort studies and data linkage.

Education

  • A master’s degree in a relevant field is required.

Tools

  • Proficiency in statistical software such as R or STATA is preferred.
