About the role

Job summary

This role involves leveraging quantitative pharmacology to support drug discovery and development in neuroscience. The Pharmacokineticist will evaluate new targets and modalities, applying advanced modelling techniques to inform strategic decisions in early development projects.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS with 4–6 years of industry experience, or PhD in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutical science, bioengineering, chemical engineering, systems biology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) and mechanistic modelling in early drug discovery.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the feasibility of new drug targets using quantitative systems pharmacology and mechanistic modelling.
  • Define data needs and develop model-informed strategies for evaluating target hypotheses.
  • Utilize PK/PD and PBPK modelling for candidate selection and first-in-human dose predictions.
  • Contribute to translational modelling that connects preclinical and clinical data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate modelling insights into project strategies.
  • Provide modelling and simulation expertise to discovery project teams.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of PK/PD and PBPK modelling tools (e.g., NONMEM, R, MATLAB, Gastro-Plus, Simcyp, PK-Sim).
  • Excellent communication skills to translate complex modelling results into actionable insights.
  • Self-motivated and collaborative with a strong scientific curiosity.

Education

  • BS or MS (4–6 years of experience) or PhD in relevant fields.

Tools

  • Familiarity with modelling software such as NONMEM, R, MATLAB, and others relevant to pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.
