Performance Tooling Engineer

Job summary

The Creativity Apps team is seeking a Performance Tooling Engineer to develop and maintain tooling and automated tests that ensure product performance and reliability. This role focuses on identifying regressions in latency, memory, power, and functionality before product release by creating test harnesses, benchmarks, and continuous integration infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving and coding abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in building and maintaining continuous integration systems.
• Solid understanding of performance measurement fundamentals, including benchmarking and analyzing latency, memory, and power/thermal metrics.
• Experience in writing automated tests and associated tooling/frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own the development of tooling and automated tests for performance measurement.
• Create systems that continuously run tests across a range of devices to catch regressions early.
• Transform subjective performance feedback into quantifiable metrics for analysis.

Skills

• Proficiency in coding and problem-solving.
• Familiarity with performance measurement and benchmarking techniques.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in software engineering or a related field.

Tools

• Experience with development for iOS/macOS platforms, including knowledge of Swift.
• Familiarity with development tools such as Xcode and Instruments.
• Knowledge of GPU programming and image processing systems (Metal, OpenCL, CUDA, etc.).
