Job summary

This role involves evaluating patients to determine the nature of their symptoms, whether physical, mental, or a combination of both. The psychiatrist will provide psychopharmacological assessments, conduct psychiatric evaluations for new patients, and communicate effectively with team members and parents regarding medication recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Licensed physician (mandatory)
  • Completion of a board-approved child/adolescent psychiatric residency (mandatory)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Flexibility in scheduling

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychopharmacological assessments and reviews
  • Perform psychiatric evaluations for new patients
  • Participate in clinical rounds and meetings
  • Fulfill on-call responsibilities, including conducting physical assessments and providing consultation to staff
  • Maintain compliance with training and licensing requirements
  • Complete daily documentation in an electronic medical record system
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in managing clinical documentation

Education

  • Medical degree with a specialization in psychiatry
