O&M Technical Support Engineer (Offshore Wind)

Job summary

The role involves providing specialized second-line technical support for offshore wind sites, primarily focusing on Vestas turbine platforms. The engineer will analyze recurring technical issues and assist in improving the reliability and performance of the offshore wind fleet.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in technical operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, or engineering within wind energy or a similar technical field.
• Technical background in electrical, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Familiarity with wind turbine systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems, with skills in fault finding and root-cause analysis.
• Proficient in using technical documentation and operational tools such as SCADA, SAP PM, or other CMMS solutions.
• Strong communication skills in English, capable of explaining complex technical concepts clearly in an international setting.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to operational or offshore sites.

Responsibilities

• Assess and resolve technical requests from offshore wind sites using ticketing systems and operational data.
• Analyze alarms, failure patterns, and technical trends to identify potential platform issues.
• Support remote troubleshooting by utilizing SCADA and alarm data to guide site teams.
• Create and maintain standardized technical solutions and troubleshooting instructions.
• Collaborate with various internal stakeholders to ensure accurate technical input for operational decisions.
• Provide technical input for future projects and improvement priorities based on operational lessons learned.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Technical Support processes and documentation.
