Job summary

The Mechanical Piping Superintendent will oversee various aspects of mechanical contracting, ensuring safety, quality, and commercial compliance on-site. This role involves direct reporting to the Construction Manager/Lead Engineer and requires coordination with multiple disciplines to facilitate project execution.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction engineering or as a trade supervisor.
  • Excellent understanding of piping isometrics and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop piping and equipment construction work packs.
  • Sign off on piping test packs for pre-test, pressure test, and post-test activities.
  • Record field welds for inclusion in piping test packs.
  • Coordinate onsite activities between mechanical and other disciplines.
  • Resolve engineering queries in the field.
  • Collaborate with piping supervisors to advance construction efforts.
  • Provide weekly progress and variation reports.
  • Ensure correct installation of equipment within the designated area.
  • Utilize Navisworks 3D models to support piping supervisors.
  • Ensure all necessary materials and fabricated pipe spools are available on-site to meet project schedules.
  • Work with QA leads to ensure timely handover of piping systems to clients.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical contracting processes and standards.
  • Proficient in using Navisworks and other relevant engineering tools.

Education

  • Relevant engineering or technical qualifications preferred.

  • Navisworks, piping isometrics, P&IDs.
