Lead Architect (Copenhagen)

Job summary

The Lead Architect is a senior technical role responsible for defining and owning the company's multi-year technology strategy and architecture. This position involves making high-stakes architectural decisions, reviewing proposals, and setting standards for the engineering team. The Lead Architect will work closely with technical leadership and mentor senior engineers, ensuring alignment on technical vision and strategy.

Qualifications

• Over 8 years of hands-on engineering experience, including significant time as an architect or senior technical authority.
• Proven track record of owning technology strategy and platform architecture decisions.
• Experience leading major architecture proposals through cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to make informed build-vs-buy and technology adoption decisions considering cost and market trends.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers towards architect-level thinking.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and its implications.

Responsibilities

• Own the company's technology strategy and make irreversible architecture decisions.
• Author and drive major RFCs and review high-risk architecture changes.
• Set standards for core languages and frameworks, and define observability, reliability, and security postures.
• Establish technical tooling and platform standards, evolving them as needed.
• Shape the engineering quality philosophy and contribute to technical org design.

Skills

• Strong technical judgment and ability to communicate complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and strategies.
• Ability to identify technical risks early and communicate them effectively.

Education

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, though not explicitly stated.
