Junior Mechanical Engineer

Job summary

An early-career mechanical product design engineer is sought to contribute to the development of new LEGO® elements from concept to production-ready design. The role involves strong CAD skills and a passion for mechanical design and product development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge and experience with CAD systems and 3D design
• Understanding of variation and tolerance design principles, along with basic statistical methods
• Proven track record in mechanical engineering
• Ability to work in a focused and results-oriented manner
• Familiarity with mechanical and structural design principles
• Strong relationship-building skills across diverse teams

Responsibilities

• Develop technical designs for new LEGO® bricks
• Create CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications for new products
• Apply current quality standards related to functionality and safety
• Incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles into designs
• Conduct prototype testing and verify material selection and product safety

Skills

• Interest in robust design principles
• Experience with plastic materials, mechanics, or moulding technology (2-5 years preferred)
• Effective collaboration in cross-functional teams within a global organization

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
