Geotechnical Engineer

Job summary

A Geotechnical Engineer is needed to support various projects within the offshore wind farm sector, focusing on geotechnical design and analysis. The role involves working closely with senior staff while taking ownership of personal career development.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in civil or geotechnical engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience is advantageous
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Responsibilities

• Address civil engineering challenges in the planning, development, design, and construction of offshore wind farms
• Design and manage offshore geotechnical site investigation campaigns
• Specify and process laboratory test results, including advanced and cyclic tests
• Prepare geotechnical interpretive reports and design profiles
• Conduct soil-structure interaction and foundation design assessments
• Perform 3D finite element modeling and foundation installation assessments
• Prepare Design Briefs and participate in certification processes
• Support technical leads from concept to detailed design stages
• Engage in research and development activities
• Develop in-house engineering software

Skills

• Strong numerical skills and experience with software development, particularly in MATLAB
• Knowledge of geotechnical engineering related to offshore wind farms
• Familiarity with design codes and guidelines such as API, Eurocode, DIN, DNV-OS-J101
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and consultant interactions
