Freelance Research Physicist (Remote)

Job summary

This role involves contributing to project-based AI opportunities focused on testing and improving AI systems through the design of original physics problems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or related fields.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in applied, research, or teaching roles.
• Experience with numerical simulation methods.
• Strong written English proficiency (C1+).

Responsibilities

Project time expectations

Tasks are estimated to require approximately 10–20 hours per week during active project phases.

Compensation

Earn up to $45 per hour, depending on experience and contribution pace, with variations based on project scope and complexity.

• Create original optics problems that reflect real physics research workflows.
• Ensure problems are computationally intensive and not solvable manually within reasonable timeframes.
• Develop problems that require complex reasoning in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
• Base problems on actual research challenges or practical applications in optics and physics.
• Clearly document problem statements and provide verified correct answers.
