Job summary

Qualifications

  • Degree in Material Science or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar programming languages is acceptable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in applied, research, or teaching roles.
  • Strong understanding of practical engineering constraints and approximations.
  • Excellent written English skills (C1+).

Responsibilities

Project time expectations

Tasks are estimated to require approximately 10–20 hours per week during active project phases, depending on project requirements.

Compensation

Contributors can earn up to $45 per hour, with compensation varying based on project scope, complexity, and required expertise.

  • Design original material engineering problems that reflect real-world workflows.
  • Create problems that necessitate Python programming for engineering calculations and simulations.
  • Ensure problems are computationally intensive, requiring numerical methods or iterative solutions.
  • Develop problems based on actual research challenges or practical engineering applications.
  • Verify solutions using Python and standard engineering libraries.
  • Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.
