Freelance Bot Developer (Remote)

Job summary

This role involves designing, building, and refining messaging bots for platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord within a hybrid AI and human environment. The position is part-time and fully remote, ideal for professionals with experience in bot development and messaging platform integrations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in backend, integration, automation, or bot development.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop bots for messaging platforms including WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord.
• Design conversational flows and manage dialogue states.
• Integrate bots with large language models for natural language responses.
• Connect bots to backend services and third-party APIs.
• Manage webhooks and platform-specific message formats.
• Refactor AI-generated bot code for reliability and error handling.
• Implement monitoring and recovery systems for bots in production.

Skills

• At least 1 year of experience building bots for major messaging platforms.
• Proficiency in Python or Node.js for backend development.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, and database management.
• Familiarity with LLM APIs and prompt design is a plus.
• Understanding of platform-specific limits and message templates.

Education

• Portfolio or examples of previous bot projects are required.
• English proficiency at an upper-intermediate level or above is necessary.

Tools

• Experience with hosting and deployment tools such as Docker or serverless platforms is beneficial.
