Forward Deployed Engineer (Merchandising)

Job summary

The role of a Forward Deployed Engineer involves working closely with customers to enhance their merchandising operations using a unified supply chain planning platform. This position requires on-site engagement with clients to configure and extend the platform, ensuring that their supply chain runs more efficiently.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in designing and building software across the full stack in production environments.
• Strong understanding of system design, observability, and hypothesis-driven development.
• Experience in building integrations for customer-facing systems.
• Solid knowledge of cloud platforms and modern application stacks.
• Strong business acumen to translate technical work into measurable financial impact.
• Comfortable managing ambiguity and taking ownership of outcomes.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site at customer locations.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Nice to have: exposure to retail, merchandising, or pricing and promotions.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical delivery from discovery through go-live, including configuration and integrations.
• Measure and present the value delivered to customers, ensuring outcomes are aligned with their baseline.
• Develop strong technical relationships with customers, understanding their operations deeply.
• Capture gaps and use cases from the field to inform product development.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer to promote customer self-sufficiency.
• Identify opportunities for account growth and collaborate with pre-sales teams.
