Engineering Team Lead (On-site)

Job summary

The Learning team is responsible for onboarding, training, and certifying frontline employees through innovative AI-driven solutions. The Engineering Team Lead will oversee a small team of engineers while remaining actively involved in coding and technical decision-making.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of full-stack development experience with React, React Native, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Previous experience leading engineers, either formally or as a tech lead.
• Ability to design and architect scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Experience in a startup or scale-up environment.
• Strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
• Based within European time zones.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 3 to 5 engineers, conducting regular 1:1s and providing constructive feedback.
• Own the Learning domain's architecture, data model, and overall performance.
• Remain hands-on with coding and code reviews, dedicating approximately half of the time to technical work.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver shippable increments and manage project timelines.
• Enhance the team's capabilities in AI-assisted development and contribute to broader engineering practices.

Skills

• Proficiency in TypeScript and experience with NestJS and MongoDB is advantageous.
• Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) or content-heavy products is a plus.
• Experience shipping features powered by large language models (LLMs) is beneficial.

Education

• Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience in software engineering or a related field.

Tools

• TypeScript-based tech stack, including front-end, back-end, and mobile development tools.
