Engineering Manager - Security Standards and Hardening (Remote)

Job summary

This role is a leadership position focused on enhancing security standards within a widely utilized open-source technology ecosystem. The Engineering Manager will oversee a team of engineers dedicated to implementing rigorous security practices across various platforms, including operating systems and cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in leading and developing engineering teams, with a strong record of coaching technical talent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related technical field, or equivalent expertise.
• Significant experience with FIPS- or Common Criteria-certified products and familiarity with relevant security standards.
• Hands-on experience with DISA STIG or CIS benchmarks, including compliance tooling.
• Strong knowledge of software security and secure engineering practices.
• Experience in an Agile software development environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to build trust and provide effective leadership.
• Commitment to continuous learning in security threats and technologies.
