About the role

Job summary

As an Electronics Engineer, you will be a key member of the Hardware Engineering team, responsible for the complete embedded electronics development lifecycle, from design to ongoing support. You will collaborate with engineers from various disciplines to tackle complex challenges in the biotech robotics field.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field; or 2+ years of professional experience in electronics development in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency in EDA tools (e.g., KiCad, Altium).
  • Proficiency in embedded systems programming (e.g., C, C++, Rust).
  • Proficiency in high-level programming languages (e.g., Python).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and iterate on electronics and firmware designs for hardware products.
  • Design and document new electronic systems, including schematic design and PCB layout.
  • Build, test, and maintain highly reliable systems, optimizing performance and scalability for production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues to minimize downtime, driving continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware engineering peers for seamless integration of components.
  • Work with cross-disciplinary teams to identify and address system requirements.
  • Uphold the highest standards of excellence in all work.

Skills

  • Experience in electronics development for robotics or embedded software systems is preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience in hardware hacking and DIY projects (e.g., soldering, 3D printing).
  • Knowledge of microcontroller development and communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART).
  • Experience with hardware debugging tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
  • Familiarity with Single-Board Computers and embedded Linux.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and software development practices.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
