Electrical Authorised Person

Job summary

Responsible for overseeing electrical and MEP works on-site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project timelines. The role involves technical verification, stakeholder coordination, and quality assurance to deliver safe project outcomes across various phases of construction and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Trade background with 10–15 years of experience managing large installation projects and subcontractors.
• Completed a Low Voltage Authorised Person training course within the last 2 years.
• Completed a High Voltage Authorised Person training course within the last 2 years (desirable).
• Proven record of supervising and managing large-scale installation projects.
• In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and quality compliance.
• Excellent technical knowledge of electrical systems.
• Experience in design and build.
• Excellent IT and communication skills.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines and drive a large-scale project.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the application of Electrical Safety Rules.
• Approve energisations and isolations, ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
• Manage LOTO processes and ensure low and high voltage switching plans are executed.
• Review and verify PPE compliance for personnel in electrical areas.
• Investigate equipment under Operational Restriction and report incidents.
• Maintain subcontractor safety documentation and attend various project meetings.
• Assist with project close-out activities and drive a culture of safety and quality.

Skills

• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems.
• Familiarity with mechanical systems (desirable).
• Experience with data centre, pharmaceutical, or large-scale commercial projects (desirable).
• Knowledge of arc flash studies and QR-coded asset management processes (desirable).

Education

• Relevant trade qualifications and training in electrical systems.

Tools

• Familiarity with project management and safety compliance tools.
