Job summary

The Director of BMS Engineering is tasked with enhancing capabilities in battery management systems to drive innovation and customer value in the energy storage sector. This role involves leading product engineering initiatives and mentoring a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Over 15 years of experience in energy storage or related fields, with at least 10 years in product or innovation leadership.
• Extensive knowledge of battery management systems, energy storage design, and control architecture.
• Proficiency in RTOS, embedded C/C++, and battery communication protocols.
• Familiarity with functional safety standards like ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
• Strong business acumen and communication skills, particularly with executive leadership.
• Experience managing global engineering teams.
• Fluency in English; additional languages such as German, Danish, or Swedish are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and innovation of the BMS platform, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Build and mentor a BMS engineering team focused on advanced product delivery.
• Oversee requirements gathering and implement robust development practices.
• Collaborate with various teams to execute a multi-year product roadmap for BMS solutions.
• Manage the lifecycle of BMS solutions from concept to continuous improvement.
• Establish relationships with global partners and technology providers to integrate emerging technologies.
• Champion the use of digital intelligence in energy storage controls.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and promote a culture of safety and sustainability.

Education

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Engineering, Product Innovation, Energy Systems, or a related field.
• Advanced training or certifications in electronics development or real-time systems are preferred.

Tools

• Experience with embedded systems, power electronics, and real-time control firmware.
