About the role

Job summary

We are seeking a Data Engineer to develop data products for a customer-facing analytics platform in the construction industry. This role involves building and maintaining data pipelines that process real-time telemetry data, ensuring high performance and reliability for users.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Databricks, including Delta Lake, Spark, and Databricks SQL.
  • Experience with data governance and security using Unity Catalog and fine-grained access control.
  • Familiarity with data architecture concepts, particularly Medallion architecture and data modeling.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • Proven experience in building end-to-end data pipelines from ingestion to transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Construct and maintain data pipelines that support the analytics platform, ensuring low latency and data integrity.
  • Stay updated on Databricks features and assess their applicability to enhance product offerings.
  • Define processes for feature teams to integrate their data into the analytics platform efficiently.
  • Facilitate customer integration of analytics data into their systems, focusing on scalable solutions.
  • Monitor data quality and pipeline performance to maintain trust and reliability for customers.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to design for scalability and multi-tenancy.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered analytics tools and concepts.

Education

  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Tools

  • Databricks, Kafka, PySpark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog.
