Data Engineer (Biotechnology, Remote)

Job summary

This role involves transforming complex data into reliable and scalable solutions to support commercial teams across Europe and the UK. The position focuses on designing and building data foundations that facilitate critical business insights and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of modern data architectures, including ELT and cloud-native data platforms.
• Familiarity with commercial datasets and hybrid cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and models using modern ELT and distributed processing frameworks.
• Enhance performance and reliability across platforms like Snowflake and Databricks.
• Develop data marts, semantic layers, and dashboards for business users.
• Implement automation, testing, and CI/CD practices for high-quality data solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data solutions meet various needs.

Skills

• Proficiency with tools such as dbt, Databricks, Snowflake, and BI tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Ability to focus on strong engineering principles and data design patterns.
• Experience in building or automating data pipelines and analytics workflows.

Education

• Relevant degree in a field related to data engineering or computer science is preferred.

Tools

• Experience with modern data platforms and frameworks, including ITIL and regulated environments.
