Data Engineer

Job summary

The Data Engineer is tasked with designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions on Microsoft Fabric, ensuring data is structured, reliable, and usable across the organization. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders to translate their needs into scalable data models, pipelines, and reporting solutions, while ensuring high-quality financial and operational data reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to comprehend complex data structures and relationships.
• Solid understanding of data modeling principles, including dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms, such as Azure Data Platform.
• Strong knowledge of data processing, transformation, and pipeline design.
• Experience with large and complex datasets, ensuring performance and scalability.
• Understanding of financial and operational data structures, with ERP/D365 experience being a plus.
• Familiarity with Power BI and semantic models is advantageous.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and best practices in data architecture.
• Ability to bridge technical data topics with business requirements.
• Familiarity with integrating multiple data sources across platforms like Databricks and Fabric.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the data foundation that supports reporting, analytics, and future automation of business processes.
• Play a key role in the ongoing development of the hybrid data platform across Microsoft Fabric and Databricks.
• Ensure alignment, performance, and best practices in data architecture.
• Reduce dependency on external consultants and improve in-house knowledge and ownership of the data platform.
