Data Center Engineer (Electrical Engineering)

Job summary

The role involves providing technical support for the design and engineering of electrical systems in data centers, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and collaborating with various teams on infrastructure improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Define system-level architecture for data center operations and maintenance procedures.
• Participate in the selection and onboarding of contractors and vendors, acting as an electrical subject matter expert.
• Contribute to health, safety, and environmental plans related to electrical engineering.
• Review quality and commissioning plans for electrical systems and support relevant factory acceptance tests.
• Provide technical leadership to projects, optimizing design, scope, schedule, quality, and safety for electrical disciplines.

Skills

• Experience in estimating, electrical design, operation, and commissioning of substations, switchgear, and emergency power systems.
• Familiarity with medium and high voltage systems, electrical distribution systems, and power management tools.
• Ability to work with cross-discipline teams including structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, and architectural.

Education

• Preferred: Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a professional engineering license.

Tools

• Knowledge of power monitoring and electrical protection systems, as well as SCADA tools.
