Cultural Specialist (Germany)

Job summary

This role serves as a cultural expert for expeditions focused on Germany, providing insights into the region's culture and natural history. The position involves engaging with guests through presentations, leading off-ship activities, and ensuring a high-quality guest experience throughout the voyage.

Qualifications

• Expertise in German culture and natural history, preferably with a background from Germany.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
• Experience in guiding or working in the destination.
• CPR & First Aid Certified (higher level of training preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with various activities including hiking, kayaking, and cultural tours.
• Provide engaging in-the-field and onboard interpretation for guests.
• Prepare and deliver presentations on relevant themes.
• Participate in evening recaps to summarize daily experiences.
• Address guest concerns and maintain visibility throughout the voyage.
• Monitor quality control during excursions and report issues as needed.
• Dine with guests to foster engagement and discussion.
• Assist with onboard duties related to guest experience and logistics.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
