Job summary

The role involves addressing complex engineering challenges in the design of next-generation wind turbines, focusing on aeroelasticity, simulation, and stability analysis to enhance renewable energy solutions.

Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in Mechanical, Structural, Aerospace/Aeronautical, Computational, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years dedicated to aeroelastic stability analysis of wind turbines.
  • Proven experience in defining stability criteria and methodologies used across engineering organizations.
  • Familiarity with certification processes and industry frameworks, including Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs).
  • Experience in designing studies and validation activities related to wind turbine stability.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical authority for aeroelastic stability, guiding decisions across products and projects.
  • Manage Aeroelastic Stability as a governed service, including stability criteria and assessment outputs.
  • Define and uphold stability standards and governance frameworks for consistent decision-making.
  • Lead validation activities to correlate simulation results with real-world data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage stability risks and align on requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve aeroelastic stability challenges, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Drive the development of the aeroelastic stability roadmap for future technologies.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with wind turbine aeroelastic modelling and simulation tools (e.g., HAWC2, Flex5, Bladed, HAWCStab2).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges.
  • Ability to translate technical findings into practical recommendations and collaborate across teams.

Education

  • Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

Tools

  • Proficient in aeroelastic modelling and simulation software.
