Senior Analytical Scientist

Your new position

Your responsibilities will include late-stage analytical development in a manufacturing set up, with a broad range of activities in development and LCM in projects. Given our CDMO collaboration model, you will drive coordination and collaboration with external partners and set the direction for various tasks and investigations to secure the project continuation. This is a significant aspect of this role as well as cross functional collaboration internally in Zealand Pharma.

We offer exciting responsibilities: 

  • Overall responsibility for analytical late-stage development and LCM activities, including all relevant analytical methods, especially HPLC and SEC.
  • Cross functional support CMC development projects with analytical knowledge and activities such as stability programs, specifications, extractable/leachable studies, characterizations etc.
  • Manage the collaboration with CDMOs (follow-up on plans and communication, securing transfer and validation of methods if needed and supporting ongoing activities such as QC activities, stability studies and method maintenance)
  • Write scientific reports and documentation meeting the requirements for pharmaceutical products, including regulatory documents (CTA/IMPD and NDA/MAA)
  • Actively contribute to the area analytical function, working collaboratively on project progress towards regulatory approval.

Your profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A M.Sc/PhD within chemistry, biochemistry or pharmaceutical sciences.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry within analytical science or QC. Experience with HPLC methods of peptide-based products is preferred.
  • Experience with GMP and regulatory aspects of late-stage analytical development and LCM.
  • Experience with outsourcing to CDMO and Contract labs.
  • Well-developed collaboration skills and excels in coordinating activities within and across projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • The ability and engagement to “walk the extra mile” and taking on new challenges
  • Friendly mindset and great people and stakeholder management skills

You will be joining the newly formed department of Manufacturing, which consists of experts across the value chain from drug substance to finished product and devices. We are currently five people in the department and growing. Our mission is to add a manufacturing mindset and support all manufacturing and analytical activities across Zealand Pharma project programs.
