We are looking for the right HR Business Partner to join our People & Organization team, where you will play a pivotal role in enabling the success of our Research organization. As a HR Business Partner in Zealand Pharma, you will be a trusted advisor and an integrated member of the global Research leadership team located in Denmark and US. You will work closely with scientific leaders to understand their business priorities and translate them into people and organizational strategies that accelerate innovation, strengthen team effectiveness, and support our mission to deliver life-changing treatments to patients worldwide.

Your new position

In this role, you will partner closely with research leaders to build an environment where scientific excellence and organizational performance go hand in hand.

We offer exciting responsibilities: 

  • Act as a trusted advisor and strategic HR Business Partner to the Research organization, supporting scientific leaders in Denmark and Boston, MA, on organizational development, strategic workforce planning, talent pipelines, and performance development.
  • Drive and implement initiatives that align with business priorities and strengthen a culture of empowerment, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach and advise leaders on people-related matters, including team dynamics, leadership effectiveness, employee relations, and organizational change.
  • Facilitate and anchor annual people processes – such as talent reviews, succession planning, and development dialogues – ensuring they support business decisions and long-term capability building.
  • Use HR data and analytics to generate insights and support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor law and internal HR policies while maintaining a pragmatic, business-focused approach.
  • Collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Organizational Development and People operations to deliver on integrated people initiatives.

Your profile

To thrive in this role, you bring a proactive mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for enabling both people and business success. You enjoy partnering with leaders at all levels and navigating an ambitious, collaborative, and evolving environment. We hope you can tick most of the following:

  • A master’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Business Partner, preferably in a global R&D organization with exposure to US or a background in global biotech/pharma research/science with a link to HR, leadership support, or people-related responsibilities.
  • Solid knowledge of Danish employment law and HR best practices.
  • Strong coaching capabilities and experience supporting leaders at various organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to influence, prioritize, and deliver results in a dynamic business environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • A collaborative, pragmatic, and solution oriented approach to HR.

Your New Team

The role sits within People & Organization consisting of 23 passionate colleagues. You will report directly to the Chief People Officer and have a dotted line to the Senior Director, HR Business Partner Lead. You will be part of an HR Business Partner team known for its business acumen and collaborative and trust-based approach.
