Position Overview:

Reporting to the Georgia Director of Development, the Development Coordinator will be an integral part of the Georgia Development team, supporting the implementation of established strategies for fundraising, stewardship, and volunteer engagement. In this highly visible, collaborative, and donor-facing role; the Development Coordinator will interact directly with some of the organization’s most committed, passionate and supportive donors, volunteers and board members. The Development Coordinator will serve as the administrative leader for the Georgia Development Team, serving as a liaison to a number of Youth Villages National headquarters support service leaders. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

DONOR RELATIONS

  • In collaboration with the Development Director and Development Manager, help build, implement and manage a stewardship and engagement program for various tiers of donors and prospects.
  • Assist in the research and identification of donors in Georgia (primarily metro Atlanta) including individuals, foundations and corporations that are passionate about the mission of Youth Villages.
  • In partnership with the Development Director and Development Manager, and other members of the National Development Team, facilitate the collection of donor/prospect research by preparing dossiers and relationship maps as needed.
  • Support the Georgia Development Manager in facilitating meaningful donor engagement and support opportunities through the Atlanta Community Based programs LifeSet and Intercept.
  • Assist the Community Engagement Manager in facilitating meaningful and memorable tours for donors, prospects, and community partners on the Inner Harbour campus (Douglasville).

GIFT MANAGEMENT

  • Manage gift processing and ensure donor acknowledgement/tax letters and tribute gift notifications are sent promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure gifts are entered correctly in Salesforce and donor records are kept “clean” and align with organization guidelines.
  • Reconcile donations arriving through various sources with the national organization development operations and finance teams as needed. 

VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP SUPPORT

  • In partnership with the Georgia Community Engagement Manager, help facilitate meaningful group volunteer opportunities on the Inner Harbour campus (Douglasville).
  • For quarterly Georgia Advisory Board meetings, prepare informative advance documents/reports, facilitate an online attendance option, take and distribute accurate and actionable meeting minutes. 

COMMUNICATIONS, EVENTS AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

  • Assist in the preparation of content and pulling of donor contact information from Salesforce for the mailing of 2 printed Youth Villages Georgia newsletters, 2 e-newsletters, and the national annual report.
  • Support all facets of fundraising and stewardship events.
  • Manage the Development Team’s vendor relationships, submitting timely invoice requests for payment through Workday.
  • Ensure weekly reconciliation of the department procurement card, and any other department expenses through Workday.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2-3 years of relevant experience with non-profit organizations, specifically fundraising and donor stewardship
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM software
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including occasional evening or weekend hours
