We are seeking a proactive and commercially driven Marine Sales Executive to support and grow World Fuel’s presence in the Danish market. In this role, you will identify, develop, and onboard new marine customers while strengthening relationships with existing clients. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to expanding World Fuel’s footprint in a competitive, relationship‑driven shipping market.

As part of your development, you will be enrolled in the Danish Shipping Academy, gaining a strong foundation in the oil and shipping industry and access to a valuable professional network. Applications to the Academy close on 1 June, so the successful candidate must join prior to that date to start the program this year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively prospect for new business opportunities within the marine fuels sector.

  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for customer inquiries and requests.

  • Build and deepen relationships with both new and existing customers.

  • Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen partnerships and understand market needs.

  • Monitor customer credit usage and ensure appropriate credit exposure.

  • Manage, investigate, and resolve customer claims promptly and professionally.

Job Requirements

  • Positive, professional, and diligent work ethic.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a small team.

  • Fluent in English and Danish.

Experience

  • Experience in shipping or maritime services is preferred but not essential.

  • Candidates with strong commercial drive and interest in marine fuels are encouraged to apply.

Education

  • University degree preferred but not required.

Specific Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong relationship‑building and customer service orientation.

  • Proactive problem‑solving skills.

  • Interest in developing expertise in marine fuels, shipping, and energy markets.

Geographic Scope & Travel Requirements

  • Based in Køge, Denmark.

  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office / 2 days remote.

  • Some European travel is required.
