Meet your future team

As a Senior Solution Architect you join our global IT organisation in VELUX Group. Here you will become part of a skilled team of Business Domain Architects & Solution Architects.

In this role, you will play a key part in shaping solution architectures and create High level designs for Global-scale initiatives in our Sales, Marketing and Customer Service business domain.  You will translate both functional and non-functional requirements into clear and robust solution designs, ensuring alignment with VELUX architecture principles, security standards and financial considerations.

A role that is central in enabling VELUX to deliver high‑quality MarTech and Commercial capabilities across B2B and B2C customer journeys.

You will work closely with different business and IT colleagues to define the architectural building blocks needed to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. This includes defining data flows and integrations, evaluating new technologies, and helping determine whether new capabilities should be built internally or sourced through existing platforms or COTS solutions.

You will also support projects throughout the lifecycle — from early solution design and technology selection to service introduction and impact assessments for major changes. In doing so, you will help ensure that new solutions integrate smoothly into the broader IT landscape and support long-term architectural goals.

In short, you will:

• Translate business requirements into scalable, compliant, and sustainable solution designs - you will do this in close alignment with the Business Domain Architect (who retains responsibility for business capability modelling and domain Target application landscape)
• Collaborate closely with business product owners, SMEs business analysts, project managers other architects, development teams and application managers to ensure successful design and implementation

What you bring

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical insight with the ability to collaborate across teams both on IT and business side.

Technical Experience

• General understanding of how MarTech and Commercial solutions integrate into customer journeys, internal sales processes, and digital touchpoints.
• Experience across both B2B and B2C customer journeys and digital channels.
• Familiarity with integration patterns and technologies (APIs, event streaming, ETL, customer data platforms, data lakes, integrations platforms).
• Experience as a developer a plus

The perfect candidate is strong in solution areas like:

• CRM  (Salesforce, Dynamics, SAP or similar).
• Systems for customer engagement and personalization like Bloomreach.
• CPQ solutions, with understanding of how CPQ supports product configuration, pricing logic, approval flows, and quote automation in both B2B and B2C scenarios.

Professional Skills

• Ability to translate complex business needs into consistent, evolvable and scalable architectures.
• Ability define and document Solution architecture and define High Level Design
• Strong English communication skills.
• Experience working in agile and waterfall environments.
• Holistic mindset with hands-on ability to guide and support delivery and development teams – transforming High Level design into Low Level Design

Ideally, you have a technical educational background and at least five years of experience working in an IT architecture role. You are comfortable working across multiple architecture layers — business, application, data and technology — and you bring a strong understanding of how IT solutions support business processes.

You are curious about new technologies and able to navigate changing business requirements while maintaining architectural clarity. With strong analytical skills and a collaborative mindset, you are able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders and explain complex topics in a clear and pragmatic way.

Experience working with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and EA tools such as LeanIX will be considered an advantage.
