Senior Category Manager

At VELUX, procurement plays a central role in enabling our strategy, supporting innovation, and strengthening long-term business performance.

We are now looking for a senior procurement leader to take ownership of category management within CAPEX, MRO and OPEX and to further elevate our strategic impact across the organisation.

In this role, you will lead the development and execution of multi-year category strategies aligned with VELUX’s business priorities, sustainability ambitions, and risk profile. Acting as a trusted strategic partner to senior stakeholders, you will shape sourcing decisions, guide investment choices, and build strong, value-creating supplier relationships across a complex global landscape.

You can be based in Østbirk, Denmark or alternatively at another European production site.

Your responsibilities

You will lead and develop a team of procurement professionals, setting a clear direction, building capability, and fostering a culture of performance, collaboration, and innovation.

Through close collaboration with cross-functional leaders, you will ensure that category strategies are effectively translated into tangible business results.

A strong focus on digitalisation, continuous improvement, and ESG integration will be central to your leadership agenda.

Other key tasks:

• Own and drive 1–3 year category strategies across direct and indirect procurement, balancing cost, value, risk, and sustainability
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiations, ensuring robust supplier selection and long-term value creation
• Act as a strategic and commercial sparring partner to senior stakeholders across the business
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing procurement team, supporting professional growth and succession
• Strengthen supplier relationships and governance, while driving innovation and performance through collaboration and digital tools.

What you will bring

You are an experienced procurement leader with a strong strategic mindset and the ability to operate confidently at senior levels of the organisation.

You bring solid experience from complex procurement environments, either direct, indirect, or both, and have a proven track record of translating strategy into measurable results through people and partnerships.

You hold a relevant degree and combine analytical strength with sound judgement, clear communication, and the ability to influence across functions and regions. Most importantly, you are motivated by building capability, leading change, and creating long-term value rather than short-term wins.
