Meet your future team
As Head of Modularization and Complexity Management, you will be based at our LKR Innovation House in Østbirk (Denmark) leading a small team of senior specialists in modularization and complexity management. The team is characterized by their significant expertise and self-drive.
What we offer
In this role, you will own and lead modularization and complexity management as a strategic enabler of the VELUX Group strategy, with a strong focus on efficiency across the value chain and portfolio performance.
You will define and govern modular and platform principles across product categories, ensuring that modular design is systematically embedded into product development, portfolio decisions, and business cases.
By driving reuse, standardization, and architectural discipline, you will reduce unnecessary complexity, improve scalability, accelerate time-to-market, and enable higher degrees of customization with fewer unique components.
You will shape the long-term vision for modularization and complexity management while ensuring tangible business impact, including measurable financial benefits, improved innovation efficiency, and stronger alignment between Product Development, Category Management, and Operations.
More specifically your tasks will be to:
Own and develop modular architecture principles: Establish clear guidelines and methods (e.g., product family master plans) and apply them in collaboration with product category teams to improve innovation efficiency and manage complexity.
Reduce portfolio complexity: Provide data-driven insights and transparency to support Category Management in identifying and eliminating unnecessary products and variants and quantify the resulting financial benefits.
Support informed decision-making: Embed cost-of-complexity considerations into business cases and portfolio decisions to support effective decision-making at both category and enterprise level.
Establish processes and governance frameworks: Design and operate governance frameworks and processes that steer modularization and complexity management across product categories.
Team leadership and development: Guide, motivate and develop your team, consisting of a handful of experienced employees.
What you will bring
You are a senior, influential leader who combines strong strategic thinking with hands-on execution and the ability to drive change across complex organizational interfaces. You effectively maneuver through multifaceted stakeholder dynamics, promoting trust within the team and aligning stakeholders across the value chain, at executive level and within your own specialist organization. With your advanced communication and presentation skills, you convincingly bring your messages and vision across in a clear and concise manner, and you combine the ability to drive transformation with the discipline to secure efficient daily execution.
Moreover, we expect that you bring:
Solid experience and advanced skills in modular product architectures, platform strategies, and complexity management.
Profound analytical and data-driven mindset to quantify complexity and support decision-making.
Experience developing and applying methods such as Product Family Master Plans.
Ability to link modularization strategy directly to business results and portfolio financial performance.
Business acumen to embed complexity and modularization into portfolio and business cases.
Ability to design governance frameworks and facilitate target-setting across categories.
Solid leadership experience in building and leading senior expert specialist teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
A solid technical educational background in engineering, preferably supplemented by a business or commercial education (e.g. MBA).
Professional level of English, spoken and written.
