Meet your future team

You will join a newly established team within Buildings of the Future and Group Sustainability. The team consists of 8 dedicated professionals, primarily architects and engineers, who are deeply passionate about healthy and sustainable buildings. The team brings strong design, architectural, engineering, and digital capabilities, and is looking for a leader who can complement these strengths with a commercial mindset and strategic direction. You will report to the Senior Vice President of Buildings of the Future and Group Sustainability, supporting VELUX ambition to influence building design on a global scale.

The team collaborates across functions, thrives on purpose-driven work, and values curiosity, professionalism, and shared problem‑solving. As a leader, you will play a key role in bringing impact, coherence, and commercial relevance to the team’s initiatives.

The role is based at our Head Office in Hørsholm.

What we offer

You will ensure that VELUX strengthens its position as an influential stakeholder within the global building industry. Through thought leadership, strategic partnerships, engagement with the architectural community, and delivery of impactful building design tools, you will help architects and specifiers choose VELUX as their preferred partner.

Your leadership will directly shape VELUX influence on building design, architectural education, and awareness of daylight and natural ventilation in the built environment.

More specifically, your tasks will be to:

• Position VELUX as a leading voice in creating healthier and more sustainable buildings.
• Lead, inspire, and develop a multidisciplinary team with passionate design and engineering profiles.
• Bring commercial thinking into the team’s initiatives and ensure clear commercial impact from thought leadership activities.
• Work closely with local markets and regions to understand the needs and wishes and secure relevant agendas and content
• Lead and facilitate internal adoption of governed agendas and building design simulation tools across a global, matrixed organisation to enable leverage and business impact.
• Strengthen VELUX presence in architectural education, ensuring that future architects design with daylight, natural ventilation, and VELUX solutions in mind.
• Develop and deliver digital and technical building design tools that increase the application of VELUX solutions during early‑stage design.
• Build strategic partnerships that support both design influence and commercial value.
• Navigate complex stakeholder landscapes and influence formal and informal decision-making structures across the organisation.

What you will bring

You thrive in a setting where design influence, commercial strategy, and cross‑functional collaboration come together. You have a rare combination of architectural or technical understanding, commercial experience, and the ability to communicate value across diverse professional groups.

Moreover, we expect that you:

• Bring more than 10 years of experience within the building industry or a closely related field.
• Have proven leadership experience, ideally from a multidisciplinary or matrixed environment.
• Possess a strong commercial mindset and a track record of driving strategic and commercial outcomes.
• Understand architectural processes, building design, or design‑driven projects.
• Have experience working with technical or digital tools and translating their benefits into commercial applications.
• Are skilled in stakeholder management and influence at multiple organisational levels.
• Have a growth mindset, a holistic perspective, and a strong connection to the broader VELUX mission.
