Meet your future team

You will join the Group Sustainability organisation, a collaborative and purpose‑driven function working across markets and functions. The team includes specialists in sustainability strategy, environmental performance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. In this role, you will act as the link between sustainability work across the company and the commercial functions, especially Commercial Excellence, Sales, and Marketing.

More specifically, your tasks will be to:

Sustainability Business Development

  • Identify and qualify new commercial opportunities where VELUX’s sustainability performance can unlock customer value — particularly with developers, contractors, specifiers, and architects across the building value chain.
  • Develop sustainability-driven value propositions tailored to specific customer segments and buying situations, grounded in data from the Group’s sustainability initiatives.
  • Build the business case methodology for sustainability as a commercial differentiator, including ROI frameworks, customer impact models, and competitive positioning.
  • Support in-market commercial sustainability projects.

Customer Collaboration

  • Partner directly with customers to embed sustainability into account strategies and dialogues for priority accounts, working closely with Sales and Commercial Excellence.
  • Co-develop customer-specific sustainability roadmaps and proposals, connecting capabilities to customers stated sustainability ambitions.
  • Join key customer meetings and negotiations as the sustainability commercial expert, supporting sales teams with technical depth and strategic framing.
  • Build and maintain a playbook of sustainability selling tools — designed as practical assets for use in live customer conversations, not as generic communications material.
  • Help to create and deliver sustainability training to customer-facing teams on sustainability trends, green building requirements, and how to position VELUX’s sustainability story credibly and commercially.

What you will bring

You bring a blend of commercial expertise, sustainability understanding, and the ability to translate complex information into clear and engaging messages. You are comfortable working across functions, influencing stakeholders, and driving cross‑organisational initiatives.

Moreover, we expect that you:

  • Have extensive experience in commercial or business development roles, ideally within a B2B environment and preferably with sustainability exposure.
  • Understand the construction or building industry, including the roles and needs of developers, contractors, specifiers, and architects.
  • Have proven experience turning sustainability activities into customer-relevant propositions that drive revenue.
  • Possess strong commercial acumen and the ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Marketing, and Commercial Excellence.
  • Have excellent project management skills and experience leading cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Understand sustainability reporting frameworks and regulatory requirements relevant to the building sector.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing.
  • Are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
