Upstream Technician (Biopharmaceutical, Remote)

Job summary

This role involves working as a technician in the Microbial Upstream team within a biopharmaceutical production environment, focusing on fermentation processes and quality control. The position requires a detail-oriented individual who can thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, specifically in a GMP environment.
• Background as a process operator or process technologist, with experience in fermentation processes.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Prepare production rooms, equipment, and systems before and after production runs.
• Conduct media preparation for fermentation processes.
• Inoculate fermenters, utilizing both single-use and traditional steel tanks.
• Monitor and manually operate fermentation processes, ensuring efficiency.
• Perform daily sampling and analysis of production batches.
• Set up and execute cleaning in place (CIP) and sterilization in place (SIP) on equipment.
• Complete and review batch documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Report any safety incidents promptly.
