As Fleet Performance Specialist, you will contribute and be key to Ultrabulk’s ambition to reduce emissions and directly impact the bottom line through improved performance. Part of a small team in our Business Intelligence department, you will sit at the intersection of data and operations, troubleshooting efficiency issues and turning analysis into concrete actions that reduce emissions and drive value.

With more than 50% travel to vessels in port, you will follow up on initiatives, work closely with crews, and see the impact of your solutions first-hand.

Among other interesting tasks you will...

  • Monitor and analyse vessel performance and efficiency across the fleet
  • Translate shore-based performance findings into actionable initiatives on board
  • Support implementation and follow-up of performance-improvement measures, including onboard visits and training
  • Troubleshoot efficiency issues onboard in close cooperation with masters, chief engineers and technical teams
  • Interpret complex operational and performance data to identify trends, deviations and improvement opportunities
  • Bridge the gap between data, operational reality and commercial considerations when recommending actions
  • Prepare clear presentations and reports for internal stakeholders on fleet efficiency and impact on emissions and cost

The ideal Fleet Performance Specialist is someone who is/has:

  • Background as a naval architect, marine engineer, or similar marine/technical discipline (min. a bachelor’s degree with clear interest in fleet performance)
  • 0–3 years of experience within fleet efficiency, vessel performance monitoring, or a closely related maritime/technical field
  • Solid understanding of marine systems, vessel operations, and vessel reporting and performance data
  • Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to analyse complex data sets, ability to weigh technical, operational and commercial aspects in your recommendations, and draw clear, practical conclusions
  • Willingness and ability to travel more than 50% of the time to vessels and offices
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to manage conflicting stakeholders and communicate in a diplomatic, balanced manner
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
