Job Description

Build the future of playful learning
As a Senior Creative Technologist at LEGO Education, you will fuse, engineering, design and AI to transform bold ideas into safe, hands-on, and meaningful learning experiences for children worldwide.

Please note: This position is at Senior Manager Specialist level.

Core Responsibilities

At the intersection of engineering, design, and artificial intelligence, you will work with creative technology innovation across physical and digital domains. The role blends creative exploration with hands-on execution, turning emerging AI capabilities into tangible, delightful prototypes and products anchored in child safety, privacy, and wellbeing.

You will collaborate closely with a broad range of stakeholders - including Heads of Product, Concept & Design Leads, Learning Leads, and fellow innovators - to elevate our product experiences. This involves creating highly innovative concepts and prototypes, ranging from early concept exploration to novel additions to our existing products. With your deep knowledge of AI and strong expertise in physical and digital prototyping, you will help push an agenda of rapid innovation, experimentation, and iteration.

Play your part in our team succeeding

The LEGO Education Design team consists of highly skilled professionals across a variety of functions, including Industrial Design, Digital Design, UX, Model Design, and Design Innovation. Direct engagement with educators, parents, and children drives our design processes, and we take pride in working in highly iterative and agile ways.

Since the launch of LEGO MINDSTORMS™ in 1998, we have been at the forefront of experiences that merge digital and physical play. Today, we build on this legacy with products such as LEGO SPIKE Prime™, LEGO SPIKE Essential™, LEGO BOOST™, LEGO Education Science™, and LEGO Education Computer Science & AI™. Creating new forms of learning and play requires a highly innovative, collaborative, and iterative mindset. Our team at LEGO® Education develops the technology that enables these creative, playful, and impactful learning experiences for children around the world.

Do you have what it takes?

The ideal candidate holds a relevant Master’s degree and has solid experience developing complex physical and digital products and ecosystems - preferably within EdTech, consumer electronics, electronic toys, or related industries. You bring a strong portfolio, a solid understanding of children’s capabilities, and a genuine passion for learning. You have a proven track record of delivering highly innovative products and features through cross-functional collaboration, and you are comfortable using LEGO® bricks to quickly sketch ideas and build concept models. In addition, we expect:

  • Solid experience working with a variety of technologies in creative ways, and the ability to swiftly turn concepts into digital and physical prototypes

  • Hands-on knowledge of electronics and embedded prototyping platforms (e.g., Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi)

  • High proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, JavaScript)

  • Deep experience with AI/ML systems, such as computer vision, reinforcement learning, and LLMs

  • A T-shaped profile with a deep understanding of the innovation process and familiarity with industrial design, UX, interaction design, digital design, education, and learning

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, enabling strong sparring with internal colleagues and teams across the LEGO Group

  • A dedicated teammate who truly believes that the best work is done together

As a person, you are proactive and pragmatic, you lead by example and are not afraid of hands-on execution. You are comfortable delivering and receiving direct, candid feedback and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment. A passion for learning and children’s education is essential, and experience working within the learning space is a strong plus.

Along with your application and CV, please include a visual portfolio demonstrating the breadth and depth of your experience and skills. Only candidates who submit a visual portfolio will be considered.
