This role will provide legal sparring/advice on legal and compliance risks, assess and guide the implementation of various technology related regulations in our digital technology, and adoption of new tools and methods in the LEGO Group globally!

Core Responsibilities

The main areas of responsibilities include:

· Deep understanding of the regulatory landscape in the digital and technology space with the ability to translate the regulations into practical advice and action plans for the relevant business areas and act as a senior advisor towards business owners and other stakeholders!

· Ability to evaluate the legal and business risks in relation to the regulatory landscape, both current and future, after establishing a solid understanding in the company business areas and plans. Keen curiosity about the regulatory space and ability to keep the skillset up to date on a global basis with specific interest in some key geographies.

· Working independently, as a recognised subject matter expert and being able to mentor others, for tasks that are independently identified and defined.

· Supporting colleagues and training the business partners in the expertise area, continuously improving legal processes and managing large projects or processes independently from time to time.

· Mastering typically end-to-end perspectives, making assessments and decisions on relevant scenarios with medium to high complexity.

· Additionally, the role may be supporting ICT procurement and other areas covered by our team, such as online retail activities and online brand protection.

This Senior Corporate Counsel role sits within the Legal, Compliance and Risk Management department and its Digital, eCommerce and Marketplaces (DEM) legal team supporting our global digital organisation, our online retail business and conducting our IP enforcement online. This role is specifically focused on legal issues relating to regulatory compliance, ICT and digital areas. The role will work very closely with other colleagues in the team but will also have interactions and opportunities to work together with the broader LCR team as well as various business colleagues. The role holder will be expected to be a great teammate and to provide the best value adding legal support to our relevant business collaborators.

The role will require a high level of interest and curiosity of working in the digital technology space, evolving technology and business needs, IT procurement and interest in privacy, marketing, and consumer laws with a global perspective. The ability to make quick decisions and quick assessments will be key. This also means that it is necessary to have strong partnering skills as the role will be interacting with the business teams directly in the LEGO Group.

Do you have what it takes?

· Law school/university degree in law (LL.M or a corresponding degree)

· Qualification as an Attorney-At-Law (bar exam) (if applicable/required in your location)

· 5-8 years of post-graduate international legal experience from inhouse or private practice within relevant legal fields

· Preferably specialisation within, and proven experience working with legal issues related to the digital or technology related regulations, ICT space, emerging technologies, digitalisation, cybersecurity, consumer protection, privacy and e-privacy areas as well as the ecommerce business. Experience with consumer facing technology would be considered an advantage.

· Experience in consumer goods, including demonstrable experience with digital marketing will be considered an advantage.

· Other considerations include: Travel, Work Authorizations/Sponsorships, and or specific niche functional or industry experience required.

· Ability and interest in being able to give relevant and timely advice within a fast-moving business environment.
