Core Responsibilities

As Senior Compliance Engineer, you will focus on general engagement in compliance consultancy for projects developing LEGO® technology products and the development of test lab partner services. You will be a key driver in planning and documentation of radio certification for LEGO technology products with radio functions in close collaboration with external test labs. More specifically, you will: 

  • Support through consultancy for projects developing LEGO technology products regarding external and internal electrical compliance requirements based on global regulations on e.g., Toy Safety, Radio Equipment, EMC and batteries.

  • Develop and implement best-practice procedures for “Safety by Design” for LEGO technology products.

  • Collaborate with external test labs to plan, drive, and document the radio certification for LEGO technology products featuring radio functions.

  • Support the development of services from our external test lab partners.

  • Drive risk assessment and change management of existing LEGO technology products in response to emerging regulatory requirements.

  • Support on consumer complaints related to electrical safety and compliance.

Play your part in our team succeeding

The Product Safety & Compliance (PS&C) department drives activities to ensure that LEGO® products are safe by design and meet or exceed all legal requirements.

You will join the Electrical Product Safety team (E-PS), which is a sub-entity within PS&C, consisting of five highly skilled and dedicated colleagues based in Billund, Denmark. The team ensures that electrical product safety is integrated into the development of LEGO products by setting the requirements and driving internal and external product approval. Their everyday responsibilities cover analysis of electrical regulation, formulation of requirements, consultancy to development projects, and final approval of LEGO technology bricks and products.

Do you have what it takes?

The ideal candidate has a technical background combined with multi-functional project management skills within risk analysis, compliance documentation and process development. It is an advantage if you have experience with electronic product compliance management (product safety, radio, EMC, batteries etc.) and understanding of electronic product design. As a person, you have the ability to work structured and focused to reach agreed deadlines and deliver great quality. You have strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing as well as you bring a positive and curious attitude to the team. You will bring:

  • Skills in project management, risk analysis, compliance documentation, and process development.

  • Proven ability to work in a structured, focused and flexible manner in a cross-functional context to reach agreed deadlines and deliver with high quality.

  • Technical knowledge and understanding of electronic product design for final compliance.

  • Structured documentation and process management execution skills. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities that make complex ideas understandable.

  • Team player with a playful, positive and curious attitude.

  • Proficiency in English.

Furthermore, it would be an advantage, if you have: 

  • Experience with regulatory frameworks and compliance management in the electronic consumer product sector.

  • Competencies within radio and EMC compliance for electronic consumer products.

  • Industry experience with Toy Safety and Compliance.
