Job Description

As our Retail Concepts Designer, Global Retail Design, you’ll help shape the next generation of LEGO Stores around the world. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to create new immersive, consumer-focused and scalable store concepts that celebrate creativity, connection, and play.

Please note: The position will be based in our head office in Copenhagen and will follow a hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and up to 2 days working remotely. Relocation support is not offered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design innovative, immersive LEGO® retail concepts that translate brand strategy into consumer-centric experiences — connecting culture, storytelling, and local market relevance across new store formats.
  • Develop scalable design guidelines for global rollout across retail formats, markets & channels.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Design, Insights, Digital, Operations, Marketing & VM) and external agencies to deliver cohesive, and commercially viable store environments.
  • Monitor global retail and design trends to inform forward-thinking strategies, ensuring LEGO stays at the forefront of experiential design.
  • Ensure concepts balance creativity, commercial requirements, and operational feasibility.
  • Create concept 3D renders, layouts, and CAD design packages.
  • Support pilot launches and evolve concepts based on performance insights.
  • Champion innovation & sustainability by integrating emerging design trends, materials and technology into physical stores.
  • Manage project timelines to ensure designs are delivered on time, budget and to the highest standards
  • Ensure compliance & quality, aligning designs with brand guidelines, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong experience in retail design for global lifestyle or consumer brands.
  • A proven track record in designing and delivering innovative, high-quality, experiential retail concepts across retail formats, markets and geographies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Strong organization and planning capabilities, balancing creativity with structured execution.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, VectorWorks, SketchUp, Cinema 4D.
  • A passion for design excellence, storytelling and the Lego brand.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture, Interior Design, or related creative field.
  • International retail build & development or creative roles.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and agency partnerships.
  • Shown ability to develop and implement retail concepts across diverse markets.
  • Willingness to travel internationally occasionally
