Core Responsibilities

You will be the global owner of airfreight management in LEGO Global Supply Chain Operations, ensuring optimal tradeoffs between product availability, finance and sustainability dimensions including CO₂ reduction. You will lead global initiatives, manage budgets, connect upstream and downstream stakeholders, and maintain high standards in processes, workflows, and business rules. This includes regular weekly and monthly tasks, as well as ownership and development of processes, principles, and tools. Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Airfreight Principles: Own governance and standards for airfreight use as a means of transportation, including defining criteria and approval thresholds. Align with senior leaders, ensure business awareness and training in these principles, and handle/approve requests within scope.

  • Airfreight Reporting & Analysis: Manage weekly/monthly spend reporting, including presenting the storyline of insights, drivers, and actions. Collaborate with manufacturing sites, finance, and shipping; control Power BI dashboards and manage airfreight cancellation processes.

  • Airfreight Budgeting: Set and track the annual budget with finance and global distribution, building on clear drivers and building blocks. Thereafter, track results while linking assumptions to actuals.

  • Airfreight Improvement: Drive initiatives to reduce airfreight and CO₂ emissions, generate ideas across the business, and lead selected improvement projects, e.g. CO₂ reporting with sustainability teams, switching mould shipments from airfreight to sea freight, and automatically removing unused airfreight capacity, etc.

  • Analytical Support: Support the team with analytical tasks connected to e.g. our global bottleneck process.

The Global Capacity Planning department has 25 specialists dedicated to ensuring optimal capacity across key operational areas like moulding, processing and packing. Adaptability is crucial in our dynamic work environment, where unexpected challenges like supply chain disruptions can arise. 

In this department, you will join the Billund-based Global Moulding Processes team consisting of eight highly-skilled professionals managing global processes related to moulding and manufacturing, including ordering moulds, assessing machine load and capacity, and managing key processes like excess and airfreight strategies.

Do you have what it takes?

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience working with planning, logistics, distribution/shipping or project management across a complex stakeholder environment. You bring an educational background within Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance or equivalent. Furthermore, you have:

  • Solid hands-on experience with planning systems, processes and technologies combined with distribution understanding and the ability to assess complex transportation needs.

  • Experience with bottleneck/shortage management in supply chain working with risk scenarios, mitigation solutions, etc. 

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manage large amounts of data, perform strong end-to-end analysis and present key conclusions in a concise way to decision makers.

  • Knowledge of digital tools to enable the analytical foundation - SAP, Kinaxis Maestro and Microsoft Power BI/data flows.

  • Strong collaboration skills thriving in a diverse stakeholder environment across manufacturing sites, finance, shipping, etc.

  • Ability to constructively challenge key decisions and perspectives to seek win-win solutions. 

  • Learning mindset and curiosity with the ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems effectively across supply planning, distribution and manufacturing. 

  • Proactive and self-driven work approach actively seek information, challenge status quo and drive initiatives independently, while demonstrating leadership and initiative.

Furthermore, it would be an advantage, if you have: 

  • Experience with airfreight management from the manufacturing industry.

  • Project management and continuous improvement experience.
