Job Description

#LI-KO1

Are you interested in technically leading a highly skilled international team?

Bring your proficiency in technical leadership and solid frontend or full stack development and come join a team that delivers products reaching millions of kids!

Core Responsibilities

You will build and drive a culture where you will coach, inspire, and develop developers across the organization through your passion and experience. As part of a full-feature agile software development team, you will lead the technical design and implement solutions closely with the team and partners.

Moreover, you will:

  • Daily contribute technically on a high level by solving challenging problems from the team's backlog.
  • Develop, operate, and maintain robust and scalable solutions - striking the right balance between feature set, security, quality, and deadlines, applying a "you build it – you run it" philosophy.
  • Be responsible for adhering to the defined quality standards both regarding product and processes.
  • Continuously improve the health of the team's codebase and systems, from dev to live.
  • Ensure world-class quality and be a steward of the LEGO® values that consumers expect from our brand.
  • Bring your curiosity to explore emerging web/frontend technologies and methods, seeing opportunities that can help us improve and move our solutions to the next level.
  • Support our journey towards API-led integration as seen from a frontend perspective.
  • Build and apply security/privacy standard methodologies from ideation to production release and beyond.

Play your part in our team succeeding

As part of the digital organization in the LEGO Group, specifically the Kids & Ecosystem Technology department, our mission is to create and run a resilient ecosystem, enabling digital experiences in the LEGO Group. Our responsibilities are, amongst other things, kids.lego.com and LEGO Play.

You will build and design the frontends, collaborating closely with the designers and product managers. As a Lead Engineer, you will coach and inspire the team through your expertise, driving a culture that continuously contributes and even challenges cross-team initiatives and strategy development.

You will work on experiences that will reach millions of kids and adults worldwide. You will join a highly skilled international team that eats agility for breakfast and values individual contributions and team spirit. Playing and having fun is an integrated part of working.

Do you have what it takes?

We envision you have a Software Engineering or Computer Scientist background, but if you are self-taught and have many incredible experiences in your collection of work, show us what you can do. You have a proven knowledge with 6+ years of experience either as a full stack - or frontend engineer.

  • 3+ years of experience in leading an end-to-end feature development team.
  • Solid foundations in HTML5 and CSS3
  • 6+ years of documented experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with frameworks and tools such as React, Next.js, Vue.js, Less, SCSS, Redux, GraphQL, Node.js.
  • A great teammate, being part of a full-featured team with a positive approach and good collaboration - and communication skills.
  • The ability to get people involved in complex technical decisions.
  • Passion for collaborating with UX/UI designers to create world-class experiences.
  • Experience with operating high-performance and secure web applications in the public cloud, e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
